Sliding doors that move with one hand again
Rollers, tracks, locks and glass repaired — or the whole unit replaced with a permitted impact slider.
What the job covers
A slider that drags usually has worn rollers running on a worn track, and forcing it wears both faster. Most doors can be brought back. When the frame is failing or you want hurricane protection, a permitted impact slider is the better fix.
- Roller replacement and adjustment.
- Track repair and stainless track caps for worn or bent tracks.
- Locks, handles and keepers replaced; auxiliary locks added.
- Fogged, cracked or broken glass panels replaced.
- Weatherstripping and sill sealing against drafts, water and insects.
- Impact-rated slider replacement, permitted under CBC1265305.

If any part of the job turns out to need a permit, we pull it, book the inspection and close it out.
Sliding door questions
- Repair or replace?
- Most sliders can be repaired — rollers, track caps, locks and glass are all replaceable. If the frame is corroded or bent, or you want impact protection, we'll quote a replacement as well.
- Does a new sliding door need a permit?
- Replacing the unit usually does, and the product needs the right approval for your location. Roller, lock and glass repairs usually don't.
- Can you fix older aluminum sliders?
- Usually, yes. If parts for a particular door are no longer available, we'll tell you and quote the alternatives.
